The Long (and Short) of It

Corporate, Experiential & Public

Joe Rovner is a producer and director with a knack for event work of all shapes and sizes. Might you need support for RFPs, ideation, pre-production, or execution, Joe has - and continues to - work in all aspects of event production.

Joe got his start producing independent theater and nightlife in New York and Chicago. But a time came when he decided to branch out, so he moved into experiential marketing.

He was hired as a team lead with Passage Events. In this role he ran mobile marketing tours in the Midwest region for Procter & Gamble.  He also directed activations for Starbucks and Cargill in the Chicago market.

Eventually he moved into spirits.  He began working with Bacardi and Team Enterprises as the Northern Illinois market manager for Dewar's Scotch. In this role he over-saw one of the most successful Dewars programs in the United States. From there he moved onto working with Pernod Ricard, overseeing Malibu, Kahlua, and Absolut programming.

In 2014, Joe went independent. Since, he has produced and directed events for Renaissance Hotel Group, Eataly, Nissan, NEXT Restaurant Group, and more. From 2017 to 2019 he acted in the role of tech and talent producer for the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Tour. And in 2019 he worked with tech start-up, Getaround, on their 2019 experiential activation in the Chicago market.

Alongside his experiential work, Joe also produces public facing content. He's produced stages and activations for festivals such as Electric Forest, Lightning in a Bottle, Roaring City, Theatre Bizarre, and others. He is also a producer and manager with the production house, Daybreaker, since 2019. Some of his highlights in this role have been over-seeing events at The Field Museum in Chicago, Red Rocks in Denver,  The Building Museum in DC and many more.

In 2021 he returned to working with agencies, doing events and activations for Zendesk, Meta, Rocket, Amazon, pharmaceutical clients, and more. In this vein Joe has acted as a producer, production coordinator, break-out director, gifting manager and member of RFP committees.

Today Joe continues to wow clients and colleagues alike with his tight, savvy, and high concept event activating prowess. So don't wait, have him bring his skillsets to the table for you!

Where the Practical Meets the Engaging

Production to fit all sizes

Joe strongly believes that a good engagement does not have to be high concept to be memorable. Engagement comes from the bottom up, the attendee needs to feel wowed but also at home from entrance to exit.

Joe has made a name for himself ensuring this is the case. His events immediately capture their audiences, encouraging them to participate in the events' content. This creates a positive feedback loop that reinforces the relationship with clients and audiences.

This trickles down to every level too. Joe is well connected in most major markets with fabricators, A/V teams, production support teams, and more. And these people are always excited to hear from Joe about a new opportunity.
